Well I've had the PB in the docks here in Bristol UK for a spin & I'm pretty impressed with its performance. I had a couple of friends along for the first outing to see how it went with some load in it. I had to launch from an unused slipway, because the water skiing crowd had the normal slip by the harbour masters office & that end of the docks sealed off for their own use. A few people stopped to see what was going on & seemed impressed that a boat appeared from a surf board sized sandwich :)
The boat went fine with 3 people in it at an estimated 10mph on about half throttle, more throttle made no real difference, as the boat was trying to climb on the plane, but did not have the power for this when fully loaded. I estimate that we had approx 270kg on board which is right on the recommended limit. I took it for a short spin on my own & it popped up on the plane in about 10m from a standing start & I guess was getting on for 15mph (estimated). Not bad with a Yamaha F4S 4hp 4-stroke.
I had a little moment, when the engine coughed & died. It had wrapped a polly bag around the prop & stalled the engine. Luckily I always carry a small pocket knife & was able to cut away the offending item & restart the engine ! It had my friends son a bit worried as we drifted in the middle of the dock :)
